Wisconsin Act 97, U-turn Legislative Change [MORE/LESS]
Effective Jan. 1, 2010, Wisconsin Act 97 will permit u-turns at controlled intersections UNLESS signs are installed to indicate the maneuver is prohibited by the unit of government responsible for maintaining the intersection (state, county, municipality).

The only urgent consideration that has been identified by WisDOT pertains to u-turns under a protected left-turn phase that would conflict with simultaneous or "overlapping" protected right-turn phases. WisDOT is in the process of addressing affected locations on the state highway system with regulatory signing to retain a prohibition on u-turns – but only at these locations. You may have similar concerns regarding implications for locations on county and local roads.
